R&B singer Mary J. Blige is making good on her vow to fix any "outstanding issues" with her troubled charity foundation and has settled an overdue college bill for a student who was granted a scholarship by organization bosses.
The finances of the Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation for the Achievement of Women Now (FFAWN) came under scrutiny last month following reported discrepancies in the firm's accounts.
A group of students from the Women's Academy of Excellence in the Bronx, New York also spoke out and revealed they faced having to drop out of college because FFAWN executives had failed to honor their promise to cover the cost of their further education.
Gennevive Sarfoah, a nursing student at the State University of New York at Canton, recently told the New York Post that charity representatives were late paying her $5,392 tuition fees in 2011 and alleged they had not handed over any money for this year.
Sarfoah's outstanding college bills have since been covered, although she is still waiting to receive a check to secure next year's tuition fees.
