Install flooring under the appliances and islands.
Don?t cheap out on flooring.
We don?t mean don?t get the floor you want, we mean install it everywhere in the space, like under the appliances.
Yes, it seems like there?s a few bucks to save here?who cares about floor tiles under the stove once there is a stove there?but they?re almost instantly eroded on installation slow-downs and completely sunk if they cause a major layout error because you measure from subfloor instead of finished floor height.
